Through Darkness to Light: Photographs Along the Underground Railroad. Photographer
Jeanine Michna-Bales has spent more than a decade meticulously researching ‘fugitive’ slaves and the ways they escaped to freedom. While the unnumbered routes of the
Underground Railroad encompassed countless square miles, the path Michna-Bales documented encompasses roughly 2,000 miles and is based off of actual sites, cities, and places that freedom-seekers passed through during their journey.

The City of Temecula announces a new playground at Sam Hicks Monument Park (41970 Moreno Road in Old Town Temecula). Please join us for the Virtual Re-Opening on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 11:00 am @TemeculaParksAndRec on Facebook. Temecula’s City Council will talk about this newly renovated project which is just steps from the Temecula Valley Museum, rich in our City’s history. Some of the new playground attractions include a Global Motion Ball, Grapevine & Barrels Climber, and an Oodle Swing!
Thankfully our playgrounds remain open for families to get outside and enjoy parks and recreation, but remember to please Play It Safe by socially distancing when possible, wearing a face mask, and be respectful to those around you.
