Sheriff Deputies Seize 70 Pounds of the Devil s Lettuce in Abilene
ABILENE, TX – More than 70 pounds of the devil s lettuce was seized Friday during a drug bust in Taylor County.
According to the TCSO, on Friday, July 16th, 2021, agents with the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office investigated a large-scale marijuana distribution in the Abilene Taylor County, Texas area.
Agents were able to intercept a delivery of approximately 71 pounds 3.6 ounces of high-grade marijuana.
The marijuana was being shipped from California to cities in Texas and other states; during this operation, one person who was the receiver of the marijuana, Alexander Rodriguez, was arrested and charged with delivery of marijuana greater than 50 pounds but less than 2000 pounds a first-degree felony.
Abilene police are urging gun owners in the city to be more responsible with their weapons after a multiyear increase in firearms thefts from vehicles.
A public service announcement made in partnership with the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Taylor County Sheriff s Office urges those who own firearms to keep them safe by properly locking them up and keeping them out of vehicles, especially overnight. Gun safety isn t just about knowing how to handle a gun properly, DPS Sgt. Fred Biddle said in the video posted to Facebook. It s also about knowing how to keep them from falling into the wrong hands, whether it be our kids or criminals.
