Potential couples are now able to meet up indoors for dates from May 17

Singletons rejoice! From Monday May 17, pandemic restrictions in England will loosen to allow up to six people (or two households) to meet indoors as part of the Government s road map out of lockdown.
Among other things, this is a small victory for those who ve been longing to return to in-person dates that do not include a freezing cold walk or al-fresco cocktails.
The Government advises that the public make informed, personal decisions on close contact, such as hugging, with their friends and family as the threat of contracting the virus remains.

That s not to say that we couldn t do a direct pickup and you wouldn t see it, but I think more often than not in television, you tend to see this massive change in a character, from one season to the next. Jumping two to four years ahead allows us to then really show the way that these characters have evolved, Canals elaborated.
As it happens, the Big Apple s ground zero standing during the HIV AIDS epidemic also came into play. The other thing is that New York City, where I was born and raised, is also, in many ways, an unspoken character on the show. So a lot of what was happening in New York at the time, and a lot of what was happening for the LGBTQ+ community, is also critically important in the story that we re telling.
