A suspect in a Thibodaux shooting was arrested Thursday after leading deputies on a high-speed chase through Terrebonne Parish, authorities said.
Emmett Willie Carr Jr., 19, of Houma, is charged with aggravated flight, flight from an officer, illegal possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm in the presence of drugs, obstruction of justice, criminal property damage, hit-and-run driving, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and other drug-related charges, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
The pursuit began around 7:15 p.m. Thursday after deputies responded to a police bulletin regarding a suspect vehicle that was involved with a shooting that occurred earlier on Ridgeway Street in Thibodaux, authorities said.

Following reports of a body found Friday in the gulf waters near Terrebonne Parish, Sheriff Tim Soignet says that a search found no evidence of a body.
Several media outlets report that the United Cajun Navy crews in Terrebonne received information of a possible body found in the water near a rig or platform in the Gulf. That report sent volunteers and the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff s Office out to the location.
Sheriff Tim Soignet tells KATC that his department went out to the location and did a search by boat but nothing was found.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The search for the remaining Seacor Power crewmembers is going strong.
On Thursday, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriffâs Office says it will be assisting volunteer search and rescue efforts organized by the United Cajun Navy.
Volunteer rescue boats and seaplanes, fueled by donations, are searching a large area south of Cocodrie, La., where Seacor Power lifejackets and helmets washed up.

The sheriffâs office is the first government organization to assist the volunteers since the Coast Guard suspended its search on April 19.

Detectives with our Narcotics Section began an investigation into illegal narcotics distribution in St. Mary Parish in 2018. It was learned that the Weeden Drug Trafficking Organization, led by Lamar Jermaine Weeden of Parks, who was on Federal Parole, and Willie Alfred of Jeanerette, was once again actively distributing drugs in St. Mary Parish despite action by federal law enforcement.
Through the investigation, more than 30 subjects were identified as being a part of the organization, which extended beyond St. Mary Parish.
