The Rosedale Union School District board held an emergency board meeting where it was decided to push the return date for 7th and 8th graders back to March 8.
Here s how Bakersfield Christian High School has held in-person learning since October
Bakersfield Christian High School, like most local schools, resumed in-person learning when Kern County entered the red tier in October, but they didnât end up shutting back down completely. 23ABCâs Kristin Vartan tells us how theyâve managed to stay open while keeping cases down.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â In-person school has been in session for Bakersfield Christian High School students for months. BCHS junior, Luke Perri recalled the assembly where administrators told them that their cooperation with protocols like mask-wearing, social distancing and socialization would help them keep their school open.
Governor Gavin Newsom announced a new plan to safely reopen schools in the spring. With some schools possibly opening by next month more schools could be reopening. 23ABC's Alex Bell breaks down the state plan on how students will return to class.

Roxi Romo Kertis is a teacher at
James Curran Middle School. Each year, she and her students come up with acts of kindness. This year, because of the pandemic they had to get creative. Her students find a rock and decorate it.
