The loan from Santander Bank, at a 1.25 percent annual interest rate, will cover anticipated borough expenses until property tax revenues are collected in March. Municipalities regularly take out such loans.
The borough chose not to tap into the $8 million reserve fund, or accumulated savings. Doing so would have likely impacted the boroughâs interest rate when borrowing long-term.

Borough officials partly blamed this yearâs shortfall on the pandemic. Finance Committee Chairman and Borough Councilman Bernie Flynn pointed at a $1.5 million loss in parking revenue as a major contributing factor in the deficit.
New drive-thru COVID-19 testing site opens in Delaware County

MEDIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) The cars lined up at Delaware County Community College in Media on Thursday morning for first come, first serve COVID-19 testing.
The state announced that regional drive-thru and indoor walk-in testing clinics will be held in five counties throughout the state through Monday, including Delaware County.
As many as 450 patients can be tested per day.
Dr. Monica Taylor, vice chair of Delaware County Council, said the county has expanded its testing and they are happy to coordinate with the state at this DCCC site. We worked with the state to figure where the best location would be, and the DCCC is right in the center of our county, said Dr. Taylor. We were able to use their parking lot, and the way it s set up is a perfect location for a drive up.

St. Cyril merged with St. Philomena Parish, Lansdowne, in 2013, and St. Cyril Church then became a worship site of the newly formed parish. The church building needs a new slate roof and has other debts that were factors influencing the decision to close it.Â

COVID In Delaware County: Health Care Workers Prepare For Vaccine Distribution

MEDIA, Pa. (CBS) In Delaware County, health care workers are making sure they’re prepared for the distribution of a COVID-19 vaccine. People were at Delaware County Community College on Thursday for a drive-thru COVID testing and mock vaccination event.
Vaccines may be deployed as soon as next week, and the team at DCCC on Thursday is conducting a test run simulation.
“It’s absolutely wonderful that they’re doing this,” Janet Kennedy, of Brookhaven, said.
During the mock vaccination, patients were informed on what to expect.
