Two Toddlers Die in Early Morning East Meredith, NY Blaze
This has been received from the Delaware County Department of Emergency Services:
On Friday, February 9th at 1:46 am. Delaware 911 received a 911 call for a structure fire in the East Meredith Fire District.
Upon arrival on scene at 478 Dehning Road responding units found a 4-unit apartment building fully involved with reports of two children trapped in one of the upstairs apartments.
Officials have confirmed fatalities of two children, ages 1 and 3 and the transport of one adult male with burns.
Fire & EMS units responded from East Meredith, Pindars Corners, Davenport, Delhi, Bloomville, Franklin, Meridale, Oneonta Fire & EMS and CMT.

Delaware Countyâs police reform and review committee met for the second time via Zoom on Monday, Dec. 14, to allow its newest members to introduce themselves and to discuss goals and priorities.
âWhat I envision this committee to be, especially after reading the first survey that we received, I believe that weâll be really focusing on substance abuse and mental health issues,â said Tina Molé, Bovina town supervisor and chair of the Delaware County Board of Supervisors, who also chairs the police reform committee.
Under Gov. Andrew Cuomoâs Executive Order No. 203, which mandated the formation of the committee, each community has until April 1 to form recommendations and have them adopted and approved by the local legislature â in this case, the Delaware County Board of Supervisors.
