After being gone for nearly 15 months, the requirement to look for work is being reinstated to those looking to receive unemployment benefits.
Delawareans must look for work and register with the state s online job resource in order to receive any money beginning June 12, the Delaware Department of Labor announced Tuesday.
That requirement was waived on March 16, 2020, four days after Gov. John Carney declared a state of emergency at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
The announcement comes as some businesses here say they continue to struggle to find employees at a time when restrictions related to the virus are loosening. More than 31,000 people are still collecting unemployment benefits from the state.
