May 11 : Amidst Bollywoodâs efforts to do its best to contribute to the COVID relief work, Amitabh Bachchan reacted to people who accuse the Hindi film industry for not doing enough as India is battling the second wave of COVID-19 which has devastated the country. Taking to his blog, the megastar listed out his contributions while he responded to the âdistasteful commentsâ of the netizens on social media.Â
The superstar wrote that it is embarrassing to reveal the donations made by him and his family. âYes I do charity, but have ever believed it to be done, than spoken of.. it is embarrassing, is too great a self consciousness.,â the Peku star wrote in his blog.Â

New Delhi: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has donated Rs 2 crore for the COVID-care facility at Rakab Ganj Gurdwara in Delhi. The Rakab Ganj Gurdwara facility will start operating from today, i.e on May 10, 2021.
The facility will have atleast 300 beds, oxygen concentrators, doctors, paramedics and ambulances. All the services will be given to patients at free-of-cost.
The president of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management committee Manjinder Singh Sirsa posted all the update on the micro-blogging site Twitter.

May 10 : At the Vax Live event, Amitabh Bachchan requested the world to help India in fighting the acute wave of COVID-19. Taking to social media, the megastar shared a glimpse from the virtual event, where he could be seen sharing the grave crisis to the world.Â
Vax Live: The Concert to Reunite the World has been organised to emphasise the importance of vaccination and inspire vaccine drive across the world. The event was pre-taped at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles as the vaccinated frontline healthcare and essential workers were the audience. The event features special messages from His Holiness Pope Francis, President Joe Biden, First Lady Dr. Biden, Indian acting icon Amitabh Bachchan, among others.
Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has responded to haters who have called him out on social media in the past for not doing enough to help individuals during the COVID-19 crisis and the farmer’s protests that saw thousands take to the streets.
In his blog, Bachchan spoke about doing charity in private and why he chose to remain silent all this while, even as people called him out repeatedly for not doing enough.
“Yes I do charity, but have ever believed it to be done, than spoken of .. it is embarrassing , in too great a self consciousness .. of one that has ever felt shy of public presence despite the profession - one that has to find its usp in public domains is relevant today for me .. [sic],” Bachchan wrote in his blog.
