New Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday said the city government has made arrangements for drinking water and other facilities for the farmers protesting at the Ghazipur border.
The farmers protesting under the Bharatiya Kisan Union s (BKU) banner claimed on Thursday that the local administration withdrew water tankers and snapped the power supply to the UP Gate protest site.

Stone-pelting incidents were also reported from the area after which the police had to resort to lathicharge and fire tear gas shells to disperse the crowd.

New Delhi: A tense situation prevailed at Singhu border after scuffles broke out on Friday between protesting farmers and local people who were demanding that the area be vacated.
Stone-pelting incidents were also reported from the area after which the police had to resort to lathicharge and fire tear gas shells to disperse the crowd.

New Delhi, Jan 29: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Delhi Jal Board Vice Chairman Raghav Chadha will pay a visit to Ghazipur and Singhu border respectively on Friday to meet the farmers and to ensure proper arrangements are made for them, the party said.

The situation on Thursday was tense at the Ghazipur border as hundreds of security personnel in anti-riot gears were deployed after the administration imposed 144 in and around the area.
Notably, Rakesh Tikait, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) spokesperson, had requested CM Kejriwal to arrange water and other basic facilities for farmers after alleging that the administration deprived them of basic civic facilities and has cut power and water supply.
"The AAP supports the protesting farmers and I have come here to check the arrangements made by the Delhi government. I have checked the arrangements of drinking water, toilets and other basic amenities for the farmers," he said.
Addressing the ninth National Council meeting of the Aam Aadmi Party, Arvind Kejriwal said the farmers protest against the farm laws is a battle of existence for them.
