On April 22, a positivity rate of 36.2 per cent, the highest so far, was recorded. The highest number of 448 deaths was reported on May 3.

Arvind Kejriwal government on Thursday wrote a letter to the Centre to inform that Delhi`s daily oxygen requirement has fallen from 700 MT to 582 MT per day and hence, the additional oxygen quota of the national capital should be supplied to other states needing oxygen.
For the last few days, the Center has fixed Delhi`s daily quota of oxygen to 590 MT. As Delhi has witnessed a sharp decline in daily Covid positive cases in its hospitals in the last few days, the capital`s daily demand for oxygen has also reduced.

India has become the third deadliest country from Covid-19, according to the Johns Hopkins University tally.
India surpassed Mexico s death toll from the virus on Monday, making it the country with the third highest number of reported coronavirus deaths worldwide, behind the United States and Brazil.
The country s death toll stands at 218,959, according to its health ministry and JHU. Mexico s death toll stands at 217,233.
India also has the second highest number of total reported Covid-19 cases worldwide, behind the United States.
Moderna to supply up to half-billion Covid-19 vaccine doses to low and middle income countries

Biotech company Moderna on Monday announced an agreement with Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, to supply up to 500 million Covid-19 vaccines doses in low and middle income countries.
The doses are being offered at Moderna s lowest tiered price, the company said. An initial 34 million doses are to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2021, with an option for 466 million doses in 2022.
The agreement covers 92 countries partnered with COVAX, a global initiative to buy coronavirus vaccines in bulk and send them to poorer nations that can t compete with wealthy countries in securing contracts with the major drug companies. New Delhi [India], April 28 (ANI): Delhi government on Tuesday issued directions to withdraw the order of converting 100 rooms of Ashoka Hotel into a Covid Health facility for Justices and other judicial officers of the Delhi High Court and their families, said Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
Taking to Twitter, Sisodia retweeted a post about the earlier order and said, Issued directions to withdraw this order immediately.
Om Monday, the Delhi government had passed an order to convert 100 rooms of Ashoka Hotel as a Covid Health facility for Justices and other judicial officers of the Delhi High Court and their families.
Delhi Budget 2021-22 makes allocation of Rs 16,377 crore for the education sector and Rs 9,934 crore for the health sector. Meanwhile, COVID-19 vaccines will continue to remain free in government hospitals.
