New Delhi: Hours after the Delhi Animal Husbandry Department said that all the samples sent to a laboratory in Bhopal have tested positive for bird flu, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday urged people not to panic. He further claimed that only samples of duck from Sanjay Lake tested positive for bird flu, adding that reports of other samples are still awaited.

New Delhi: Delhi has become the ninth state to confirm cases of bird flu amid concerns over the spread of the disease in several states. Bird flu has been confirmed in Delhi after testing eight samples from dead crows and ducks. All the samples tested positive for avian flu, confirmed Delhi s Animal Husbandry Department. A total of 104 samples was sent to Bhopal and Jalandhar labs for testing to ascertain whether avian influenza was the cause of the bird deaths.

New Delhi: The Delhi Animal Husbandry Department Monday confirmed that all the samples sent to a laboratory in Bhopal have tested positive for bird flu or the avian influenza.
“Samples sent to Bhopal lab from Delhi test positive for bird flu,” the Department’s Director Rakesh Singh told IANS.
The samples were sent to Bhopal’s National Institute of High Security Animal Disease last week.
Besides Delhi, the disease has been confirmed in Kerala, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh.
