A main road for motorists travelling in and out of Plymouth was closed this afternoon after a van caught fire.
The vehicle burst into flames on Plymouth Road. Plymouth City Council s highways department confirmed that Embankment Road was closed inbound, from the exit of the Sainsbury s supermarket at Marsh Mills.
Marsh Mills was totally blocked as a result.
In a post on social media, a spokesperson for Plymouth Highways said: Due to a car fire, Embankment Road is closed inbound, from the exit of Sainsbury’s, Marsh Mills is totally blocked currently.
