Allegiant announces a major expansion with 34 new nonstop routes
Allegiant Air today announced 34 new nonstop routes, including nine special limited routes for the Sturgis Rally 2021.
Additionally, Allegiant will offer nine special limited routes to Rapid City, S.D. via Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP) with one-way fares as low as $99. The routes will provide an affordable option to those who plan to attend the annual City of Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in August.
The new routes to
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) include:
Bentonville, Arkansas via Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA) – beginning July 2, 2021 with one-way fares as low as $49.
Bozeman, Montana via Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) – beginning May 27, 2021 with one-way fares as low as $59.

Though air travel numbers were down dramatically in 2020 because of a global pandemic, the Transportation Security Administration said its agents stopped guns at their checkpoints across the United States at double the rate they did the previous year.
Firearm confiscations at Florida airports remained in the top 10 across the country, as they have for years.
In 2020, there were about 10 firearms per one million passengers screened as compared to about five firearms per one million passengers in 2019, according to the TSA s annual report released in January.
At Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport, seven guns were confiscated by TSA agents compared to six guns collected in 2019.

STEWART AIRPORT – Allegiant Air will be adding two additional routes from New York Stewart International Airport later this year. They are in addition to the current Myrtle Beach and Florida routes served from the Newburgh area airport.
The Savannah, Georgia and Destin, Florida routes were originally scheduled for 2020 but were put on hold because of the pandemic.
Savannah, Georgia will be served via Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport beginning on May 26. Destin service via Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport will begin on June 13.
The Destin flights will operate twice weekly while the Savannah service will operate four times weekly.
