SURFSIDE, Fla. The death toll in the Miami-area condominium building collapse climbed to 95 on Tuesday as crews worked for a 20th day to find victims in the rubble.
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said 14 people remain unaccounted for in the June 24 collapse of Champlain Towers South in Surfside. No one has been found alive since the first hours after the building fell.
With 85 of the victims identified, the mayor noted that the work of identifying the bodies has become more difficult with the passage of time.
Surfside Mayor Charles Burkett on Monday said officials have decided to increase security around the debris pile to ensure that the site is preserved. Only authorized personnel will be allowed.

Miami courthouse closes after engineering firm identifies safety issues
The Miami-Dade County Courthouse began undergoing immediate repairs on Friday after an engineering firm that examined the 28-story building identified safety concerns with various floors. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Miami-Dade Circuit Court Chief Judge Nushin G. Sayfie and Miami-Dade Clerk of Courts Harvey Ruvin announced they had asked engineers to assess all county buildings in response to the June 24 condo building collapse in Surfside, Florida. They said floors 16 and above of the courthouse will be closed and all staff will return to working from home until repairs are completed. All court business will also be conducted remotely.
