SURFSIDE, Fla. – Efforts to recover human remains from the debris of a South Florida condo building are nearing an end.
Miami-Dade police identified six more victims of last month’s Surfside condo collapse on Thursday, meaning that 92 of the 97 confirmed dead have been identified. County officials have accounted for at least 240 people connected to the building, with just a few still classified as missing, or “potentially unaccounted for.”
Colorado Woman Confirmed Dead in Florida Building Collapse
A Colorado woman is one of the 94 victims confirmed dead following a building collapse in Florida on June 24.
According to Denver7, officials identified the body of the Denver-based Cassondra Stratton on Sunday (July 11). The station reports that as of Monday (July 12), 22 people are still unaccounted for.
Cassondra and her husband, Colorado native Michael Stratton, split their time between Denver and Florida, where she was living at the time of the collapse. Stratton told FOX31 that he was on the phone with his wife during the incident.
