You probably didn’t buy your latest smartphone with its haptic feedback in mind, but there’s a good chance you’ve noticed it. The quality of haptics on offer varies across the board. For every iPhone or OnePlus phone with tight-as-a-drum feedback, there are seemingly a dozen phones with vague, buzzy vibrations that make you want to disable the feature altogether. But how much does it matter? More than you might think. It’s not just a reflection of your phone’s quality in some cases, it can improve the functionality of the phone. Here are a few reasons why you’ll want to consider haptics an important feature the next time you’re shopping for a handset.

Realme Oppo and Realme are sister brands, with the latter using the former’s Color OS platform up until last year. As such, it makes sense that Realme would also have an Android 12 beta program of its own at the same time as Oppo. However, Realme is one-upping Oppo by jumping straight to a beta program, skipping over the developer preview period. Unfortunately, as with Oppo, Realme’s program will only work on one of its phones: the Realme GT. To make matters worse, the Realme GT is currently exclusive to China.
