The show’s segue to Showtime is the second half of the decision made last month to send “Halo,” the long-awaited adaptation of the popular Xbox video game, to Paramount Plus after it had been years in the making at the cabler.

The sci-fi series, based on a novel by Walter Tevis, was picked up in 2019 at CBS All Access, the forerunner to Paramount+. It centers on an alien (Ejiofor) who arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution. He has to confront his own past in order to determine humanity s future.
