The 62-year-old Powell has been a professional painter for 40 years and owns and operates Tim Powell’s Expert Painting, Inc. of Jacksonville. He works with the casual grace of someone whose life’s work involves fluid brush strokes and roller passes, but like many things, painting the correct way looks easier than it is.

Those with memberships will receive advance viewing of the museum before it opens to the general public in mid-2021, museum board Chairman David Blanchette said. Rushton is one of 14 telecommunicators who work for the West Central Joint Dispatch Center, which handles all 911 calls for Morgan, Greene and Calhoun counties. They also handle radio traffic for law enforcement, fire and emergency services agencies in the counties, and serve as backup for first responder communications in Brown and Macoupin counties.
