Karen Boes Got Life for Her Daughter’s Fiery Death. But Was the Conviction Based on Junk Science? Pilar Melendez © Provided by The Daily Beast Handout Karen Sue Boes has been insisting she did not kill her 14-year-old daughter Robin since the day her Zeeland, Michigan, house caught on fire almost two decades ago. As police interrogated her multiple times over six weeks, the 65-year-old maintained she was out shopping with a friend when the tragic fire broke out, killing Robin. 4/13/2021 Rudd points to uncovered trash, but official rejects premise This picture of a truck at the city’s waste transfer station on Grotto Avenue has council members calling for better controls, but a representative for Mayor Donald Grebien says the picture represents the loading of the truck mid-process. PAWTUCKET – Some council members are saying a picture is worth a thousand words when it comes to the way trash is handled at the city’s waste transfer station, while members of Mayor Donald Grebien’s administration say that out-of-context looks can be very deceiving. Colleagues remember Amponsah

PAWTUCKET – City councilors pressed on with their April 7 meeting because that’s what their colleague Ama Amponsah would have wanted them to do, said Council President David Moran. Councilors expressed their shock at losing Amponsah to illness on Easter Sunday, saying they will do their best to embody her beautiful spirit going forward. Councilor Melissa DaRosa said Amponsah was truly a mother to her growing up, as she was to many, and would always catch her trying to get away with things at her store. Amponsah had such a rapport with the community, she said, and was a protector and role model to her.

Jonathan Savage presented his request for a 10-year tax stabilization agreement last week, and the City Council was more than happy to oblige a developer they say has invested more in Pawtucket than anyone else over the past 20 years. When Savage and Tax Assessor Bob Burns are speaking before the council, good things are likely happening, said Council President David Moran, who said he has a lot of respect for and faith in Savage and is “very comfortable” when he and Burns are presenting a proposal, as it’s “always something positive to the city with taxes increasing over time.
