Brazil's state-controlled oil company Petrobras received only one proposal, from Holland's SBM Offshore, in a bid to contract construction of the Mero 4 oil platform in the Santos Basin pre-salt, two sources with knowledge of the matter told Reuters.

Keppel offered to build P-78, a 180,000-barrels-per-day production unit that Petrobras plans for its deepwater Buzios field, for 12.52 billion reais ($2.33 billion), the sources said, asking not to be named as the information is confidential. A winner has not been selected and the result is unclear, the sources said. Petroleo Brasileiro SA, as Brazil’s state-controlled producer is known, declined to comment. Keppel did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The shipbuilders, South Korean company Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. (DSME), today handed over the approximately 300-m-long and 50-m-wide transport ship for liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the joint venture company owned by the two Japanese companies that ordered its construction—Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) and Itochu Corporation—at the Okpo shipyard in South Korea. The new LNG ship will join a sister LNG ship currently used by Uniper.

Lines, Ltd has announced that on 25 January, the LNG carrier LNG Rosenrot, jointly ordered by MOL and Itochu Corporation was delivered at the Okpo shipyard by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd (DSME) in South Korea. The ship has entered into a transportation service contract with Uniper Global Commodities SE, 100% owned by one of the largest European gas and electricity companies, Uniper SE. The LNG Rosenrot is a sister vessel of LNG Schneeweisschen that was delivered on 31 July 2018 and is serving under transportation service for Uniper Global Commodities SE. LNG Rosenrot is equipped with the slow-speed two-stroke engine (X-DF) made by Winterthur Gas & Diesel, which can run on natural gas, MGO and heavy fuel oil, and takes the main engine’s efficiency to the next level. X-DF technologies will make LNG transport more efficient and economical.
