That’s expected at tonight’s regular meeting. It includes just over $35.6-million dollars for operations… and $8.2-million for capital spending. My Timmins Now Dot Com has asked for clarification whether these are pre-existing cases or, in fact, are cases 293 and 294. We will update when that information is received. The Kapuskasing area continues to be the hotspot for COVID-19 cases in the Porcupine Health Unit region. It’s reporting a new case between Fauquier and Opasatika today, due to contact with another case. With it, the running total since arrival of the pandemic is 292 cases.

Golden Manor awaiting COVID-19 vaccines SHARE ON: (pixabay.com) The administrator of the Golden Manor Home for the Aged in Timmins is looking forward to next week. Carol Halt says the 156 residents are expected to receive their first vaccinations against COVID-19. She says the Manor is working closely with the Porcupine Health Unit. “They will let us know when the vaccine arrives in Timmins that’s allocated to our home” Halt tells My Timmins Now Dot Com, “and then we are expected to be ready to roll fairly quickly once the vaccine arrives.” “Although initially they had indicated that the vaccine would be provided to the residents, staff and caregivers in the first phase, that is now shifted to residents first and then staff and essential caregivers following.”
