Our mistake dining at The Fisherman at Long Point was going on a rainy day.
There was no way we could enjoy that big, two-level patio overlooking Palmer Cove with the rain pouring down, but we did appreciate the view from our window-side seat indoors and imagined a return for an outdoor visit on a sunny day.

The matchup
Well, this is awkward. It’s not a complete surprise, though, and not just because we have two Rush teams from Saskatchewan facing each other in the semifinals. Really, it’s the quality of these championship teams because in 2016 and 2018, the Rush didn’t just win NLL titles. They steamrolled their way to the top as part of a stretch where the franchise won 3 championships in 4 seasons.
And if it weren’t for the 2017 Georgia Swarm, we could very well be looking at the only NLL’s only streak of 4 straight champions after the Swarm beat Saskatchewan that year.

BizTimes Media will host its 20th annual
Economic Trends event to provide southeastern Wisconsin business leaders with insights into what to expect from the local and national economy in the new year.
The Economic Trends event will be held virtually from 12 noon to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28. Attendance is free of charge.

Mike Knetter, who has participated in most of the 19 previous Economic Trends events, will return to provide his macroeconomic outlook for the year. Knetter is the president and CEO of the University of Wisconsin Foundation. Previously he was dean of the UW-Madison School of Business, and before that he served as an economic advisor for presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton. Knetter is also a member of the American Family Insurance board of directors.
