HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Two people were sent to the hospital following an apparent string of carjackings and crashes on Hawaii Island on Sunday.
One of the victims is now fighting for her life.
Hawaii Island police have charged 36-year-old Thomas Ryan Kilborn of Pahoa with attempted murder and 11 other crimes including robbery, theft and driving without a license.
Puna Patrol Officers say Kilborn stole a vehicle from a driveway near Kalapana-Kapoho Beach Road and Ole Ole Street.
MIDDLEBORO A man accused of stealing car parts from a Plympton automobile repair shop was arrested Friday when detectives say they executed a search warrant at his Middleboro home.
The man, 23-year-old Tyler Hamm, is now facing nearly a dozen charges between the two towns after police say he was also found to be in possession of stolen guns and drugs.
The investigation began on Dec. 2 when the Plympton Service Center, at 280 Main St., reported someone had stolen motor vehicle parts from the business. Through the subsequent investigation, Plympton police detectives determined that Hamm was the alleged suspect in the burglary, said Plympton Police Chief Matthew Clancy and Middleboro Police Chief Joseph Perkins, in a joint statement late Friday afternoon announcing Hamm s arrest.
