French media revealed on March 15 that China’s ambassador to France, Lu Shaye, pressured a French lawmaker to cancel a planned official visit to Taiwan. In response, Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the move and called out the Chinese regime’s “wolf warrior” diplomacy.
According to French newspaper La Lettre A, Lu learned from the French Senate website
that Senator Alain Richard, chairman of France-Taiwan Friendship Group, was planning to lead a parliamentary delegation to visit Taiwan in the summer to learn how the Taiwanese government successfully handled the COVID-19 pandemic.

Taipei, March 15 (CNA) Taiwan s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has defended its advertising in the Südthüringen Kurier, a newspaper in the German state of Thuringia, after it was accused of placing the ads out of political considerations.
It said Sunday that the ads were part of efforts by its overseas offices to promote Taiwan and were not placed for political purposes or to favor local politicians, and it called allegations by an opposition lawmaker regrettable.

TAIPEI, Taiwan – Taiwan’s classic beef noodle soup has taken on a sweet and sour twist.
Taipei chef Hung Ching Lung created a pineapple beef noodle soup at his eponymous restaurant Chef Hung, in what he says is a modest attempt to support Taiwanese pineapple farmers.
