Indonesia urges Taiwan to reconsider entry ban on its migrant workers 12/18/2020 12:29 PM Benny Rhamdani / Photo courtesy of Indonesia s Agency for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers Jakarta, Dec. 18 (CNA) The Indonesian government on Thursday expressed disappointment at Taiwan s decision to indefinitely suspend the entry of Indonesian migrant workers, and it called for the policy to be reconsidered, saying it had recently been investigating health protocols at its manpower agencies. Taiwan s Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) temporarily suspended the entry of Indonesian migrant workers on Dec. 4 amid a rising number of COVID-19 cases from the country. On Wednesday, it announced that it was extending the restrictions indefinitely, as the Indonesian government had failed to address concerns about the accuracy of COVID-19 test results being issued to migrant workers.
