In the wake of the World Health Assembly rejecting Taiwan’s effort to regain its observer status in the organization, the Chinese government announced that it had already made arrangements for Taiwan’s participation in global health affairs. In response, Wu made a rebuttal on Twitter, pointing out that the Chinese regime was lying and has no mandate to represent Taiwan internationally.
Ma keeps on parroting Beijing’s propaganda

During a speech on Saturday last week at a discussion forum titled “Resume cross-strait air travel: post-pandemic opportunity,” former president Ma Ying-jeou (馬英九) said that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) had criticized him for being pro-China and “selling out” Taiwan.
Paradoxically, instead of reducing reliance on China, the government had increased Taiwan’s dependence on it, Ma said, adding that Taiwanese exports to China last year reached a historic high. This shows that President Tsai Ing-wen’s (蔡英文) administration is more pro-China and has “sold out” Taiwan to a greater degree than he had, Ma said.

The Chinese mainland will take all necessary measures to hold stubborn Taiwan secessionists accountable with no liability period, a spokesperson from the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council said on Wednesday in response to a question as to whether Wu Jaushieh, the island s leader of external affairs, is on a mainland blacklist.
Wu has recently been quite active and frequently spoke up to push forward the Democratic Progressive Party s secessionist agenda, which has been slammed repeatedly by the Taiwan Affairs Office, prompting speculation that Wu was on the stubborn Taiwan secessionists list.

Taiwan s outspoken foreign minister could be first on Beijing s secretive watch list of independence supporters it wants to sanction, a Chinese official has hinted.
Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office in Beijing, singled out Joseph Wu by name at a fortnightly press conference on Wednesday, calling Taiwan s minister of foreign affairs a stubborn Taiwan secessionist.
President Tsai Ing-wen s chief diplomat becomes the first official in her cabinet to be named by China as a credible threat to its cross-strait ambition of unification with the island. Wu has made several notable media appearances in recent months, warning English-speaking audiences about Beijing s military coercion and its attempts to isolate Taiwan from the international community.

Taiwan condemned China on Wednesday for seeking to use vaccines for political gain after Taipei’s diplomatic ally Honduras said it was considering opening an office in China in a bid to acquire much needed COVID-19 shots.
Honduras does not have formal relations with China and is one of a group of Latin American nations that have formal diplomatic ties with Taiwan, which Beijing considers part of its territory.
Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez said that to buy Chinese vaccines, he would do as the Chinese had suggested and look for a “diplomatic bridge”. read more
