Who would have thought there would come a day when buying a Suzuki is a patriotic choice? Yet, that is exactly the case if you choose the new Swace estate.
The Swace is the second example of the new collaboration between Suzuki and Toyota. The first was the impressive Across plug-in hybrid SUV, which is near-identical to the Toyota RAV4 PHEV.
The car makers have gone down the same badge-engineered route with the Swace, which is built alongside the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports at the Japanese giant’s plant at Burnaston in Derbyshire.

Did you ever get told off at the dinner table for eating your favourite bits and leaving the rest? Of course you have. And if ever there’s been an example of taking the sausage and chips but leaving the peas, it’s the Suzuki Swace family estate car.
You see, the Suzuki Swace is the latest result of the collaboration between Suzuki and Toyota (following on from the Suzuki Across, which itself was almost identical to the Toyota RAV4), and is essentially a Toyota Corolla Touring Sports in disguise. While Toyota offers a full meal of Corolla hatchback, saloon and estate forms, Suzuki takes only the tasty estate and pushes the rest to the side of its place.
