CaixaBank ha financiado al Grupo RIU para la adquisición del 49% de 19 hoteles propiedad del touroperador TUI, que operan bajo la marca RIU Hotels & Resorts, y para el desarrollo de nuevos proyectos empresariales. Gracias a esta operación de préstamo de 825 millones de euros de capital, el grupo hotelero tendrá la liquidez necesaria para hacer frente a la compra valorada en 670 millones de euros con la que, tal y como anunció en mayo, pasará a controlar el 100% de propiedad de los inmuebles que pertenecen a TUI Group en un 49% y a la familia Riu en un 51%. Además, la operación permitirá al grupo desarrollar nuevos proyectos empresariales en México y Senegal.
