도쿄올림픽 조직위원회(조직위)가 자원봉사자들에게 유니폼 차림으로 출근하라고 지시했다가 거센 반발에 직면했다. 당사자들은 “길거리에서 괴롭힘을 당할 수 있다”며 반대하고 있다. 코로나19 확산 우려로 올림픽에 대한 반감이 심한 탓이다.
도쿄신문은 11일 “조직위가 자원봉사자 7만명에게 유니폼 차림으로 출근하라고 지시했다”고 보도했다. 일부 활동 장소에 탈의실이 없는 데다 올림픽 분위기를 연출하기 위해서다.
하지만 자원봉사자 사이에선 반발이 거세다. 코로나19 확산 우려로 도쿄올림픽 반발 여론이 심한데, 유니폼을 입고 다니면 시민들로부터 비난을 받을 수 있다는 우려 때문이다.
