Everywhere she went there were flyers and posters for lesbian bands in concert, benefits for feminist causes and courses for aspiring auto mechanics. So Keller started picking up these flyers and posters and taking them home. When she gathered too much stuff for a room or even an apartment, she got a storage unit. As this unit filled up, Keller realized a public repository was needed for her stories and all the others. That was the start of Bay Area Lesbian Archives, founded in 2014.
