Connecticut Man Charged in Connection With Assault of Officer at US Capitol

A Connecticut man has been arrested in connection with the assault of a Washington, D.C., police officer during the siege on the United States Capitol two weeks ago.
The officer, Daniel Hodges, was pinned against a doorway. Video of that attack prompted a 10-year-old Montana girl, who was concerned about what she saw, to write a letter to Hodges.
The charging documents go on to say that McCaughey was seen using a clear police riot shield to push against Officer Hodges, who was pinned between the shield and the lower west terrace door of the U.S. Capitol as he cried out in pain.
A Pennsylvania woman accused of being one of the Capitol rioters told a former "romantic partner" that she planned to steal a laptop computer from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office and sell it to Russian intelligence, court documents revealed Monday. Riley June Williams, 22, was charged with disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds with the intent to disturb a session of Congress and other charges after her former flame turned her in. William's ex, who was described in Special Agent Jonathan Lund's charging document as W1 (witness one), called the FBI and said she "intended to send the computer device to a friend in Russia, who then planned to sell the device to SVR, Russia's foreign intelligence service."
