From horrendous traffic getting to the airport to inefficient security lines and unplanned delays, traveling through can be a real headache. The last year-plus has heavily affected travel and restaurants in Los Angeles and beyond. In the midst of the pandemic, LAX has been busy with construction and renovations, which means some significant changes in the operations of eateries, restaurants, lounges, and bars at the airport.
Because a lot of places are temporarily closed, LAX is even offering an airport-only food delivery service called Order Now that will bring dishes from across terminals, in case a particular terminal you’re flying out of doesn’t have many options. Frankly other than a lot of closures, the restaurant and cocktail situation hasn’t changed much in the past year at LAX. Here is an updated list of what’s open at right now and what’s new at LA’s busy international airport.

LOS ANGELES (AP) A massive new USD1.73 billion concourse with 15 gates opened on Monday at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
Known as West Gates, it will serve both international and domestic flights.
“This is a big day in a big city that’s building out a big new infrastructure,” Mayor Eric Garcetti said during an opening ceremony.
The four-and-a-half-year construction project was part of a USD14.5 billion airport modernisation project.
Located just west of the Tom Bradley International Terminal, the five-level, 750,000-square-foot West Gates concourse is 1,700 feet long.
Officials said it is based around a digitally based travel experience, including biometric boarding gates, thousands of places to plug in and access wireless Internet with 5G later this year and touchscreen kiosks.
The new $1.3 billion West Gates expansion at Tom Bradley International Terminal opened Monday at Los Angeles International Airport. The 750,000-square-foot complex includes shopping and dining, along with work counters and charging stations, three children's play areas, touchscreen kiosks, pet relief areas and gallery space.
