Franklin city leaders have backed off a proposal that would ve changed the way street vendors do business near restaurants, a move that if approved would ve forced vendors of The Contributor away from outdoor cafés.
The ordinance proposal was sparked after a complaint from Franklin Bakehouse. Owner Tom Muir attended the Board of Mayor and Aldermen work session Tuesday night, where he said the issue had been resolved. Alderman Dana McLendon, who proposed the ordinance, moved to withdraw it due to the amicable resolution.
“We’re very appreciative of our relationship with The Contributor at the Bakehouse, Muir said. We’ve come to a good resolution with both sides, and we very much look forward to a continued relationship with The Contributor.”
