TWO DRIVERS were stopped by the Dorset Police No Excuse Team due to red light-related offences. The first vehicle, a white Honda Civic had its red high vis brake light constantly on, but its actual brake lights didn t work at all. The police team seized his car due to its dangerous condition. The driver of a red Ford Fiesta decided to add matching red lights to the front of his vehicle. He was told by members of the No Excuse Team to remove them and was issued with a Vehicle Defect Rectification Scheme (VDRS). A spokesman for the Dorset Police No Excuse Team said: Roxanne may not have to put on that red light, but on vehicles it is a requirement.
A CAR has been seized as its driver did not have insurance. Members of the Dorset Police No Excuse Team sighted a Vauxhall Mokka on Castle Lane West in Bournemouth which was showing to have no insurance on the database. When stopped the driver instantly admitted to having no insurance, claiming other matters had taken priority. She was issued with a fixed penalty notice of six points along with a £300 fine and her vehicle was also seized. A spokesman for the Dorset Police No Excuse Team said: According to the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB), uninsured and untraced drivers cause nearly one in every five road traffic collisions, and push up insurance costs for law-abiding motorists.
