Officers initially stopped the vehicle because the front seat passenger was not wearing a seatbelt. A spokesman for the Dorset Police No Excuse team said: We then noticed one of the two rear seat passengers had a coat bunched up very strangely on their lap as if hiding something. This turned out to be a baby, being carried without proper restraint. Consequently our attention turned to the driver who revealed they were carrying the unrestrained infant on the way to buy a car seat. A further check revealed he had no insurance cover for the parents car he was driving meaning all five had to taxi home whilst we seized the car.
