Six African Americans Who Have Been Appointed to Diversity Posts in Higher Education : The Journal of Blacks in Higher Education

Filed in Appointments on December 11, 2020 Jarvis Watson was appointed director of diversity, equity, and inclusion at the College of Visual Arts in New York City. He was assistant dean for student support services at Stony Brook University of the State University of New York System. Dr. Watson is a graduate of Stony Brook University, where he majored in English. He holds a master’s degree in counselor education from Kean Unversity in New Jersey and an educational doctorate from Dowling College in Oakdale, New York, which has now closed. Lorie Johnson-Osho is the new director of faculty diversity and development in the Office of the Provost at the University of Pittsburgh. She was an assistant professor in the education department at Grove City College in Pennsylvania.
