Hot coffee allegedly thrown in police officer s face during trespass arrest

A Dunedin woman allegedly threw a hot coffee in the face of a police officer after she was trespassed from a property on Mother s Day.
The constable, aged in her early 20s, was hospitalised with burns to her scalp and face but police confirmed she was discharged the same night.
Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen said the police officer was likely to spend the rest of the week off work but had visited the station yesterday to reassure colleagues she was on the mend.

The incident happened at the Cumberland Street supermarket just before 2.30pm yesterday.
Police said three of the people injured in the attack are in a serious but stable condition in hospital. A fourth person is in a moderate condition.
They said the man was released from hospital last night and moved to Dunedin Central Police Station.
He is due to appear in the Dunedin District Court today.

A man has been charged with four counts of attempted murder in relation to yesterday s horrific stabbing incident at a Dunedin supermarket.
Police confirmed the 42-year-old was released from hospital last night and taken to Dunedin Central Police Station.

Four people are in hospital after the random attack at a Dunedin Countdown yesterday.
St John Otago Territory Manager, Doug Third, says staff first on the scene yesterday are back working tonight.
He says staff are offered regular support and de-briefing after every traumatic job.
