LORDSTOWN Throughout March, prep bowl teams from Trumbull County schools will be competing on Saturdays to showcase their academic skills.
With the coronavirus pandemic, modifications have been made to keep the players safe while they compete in the Trumbull County Prep Bowl Tournament in Lordstown High School’s auditorium.
This past weekend, 14 elementary-age teams in fifth and sixth grades competed. Howland Middle School placed first, and Liberty Middle School placed second.
Brice Harris, supervisor of curriculum and instruction at Trumbull County Educational Service Center, which sponsors the competitions, said high school teams will compete this Saturday and junior high teams, grades 7-8, on March 27.
