Robert Koehler, 62, a 34-year veteran of the Champion Police Department, appeared with his attorney Gary Rich for a sentencing hearing today before Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Andrew D. Logan. Logan, in addition to the probation, sentenced Koehler to 100 hours of community service. The judge admonished Koehler for violating his âposition of trustã and said he still has a prison sentence hanging over him if he doesnát abide by the terms of probation.

WARREN A Girard man pleaded guilty to three charges including two OVIs in connection with a June 4, 2020, accident on Belmont Avenue in Liberty. Aaron B. Cousin, 53, of 14 Holly Drive, Apt. 15B, appeared with his attorney Brendan Keating before Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Andrew D. Logan, who will sentence Cousin after a background report is compiled by the adult probation department. Cousin was convicted of the two charges of operating a vehicle under the influence, fourth-degree felonies, plus a charge of failure to stop after an accident. Cousin could face up to 36 months in prison and a potential lifetime suspension of his driving privileges. As part of the conviction, Cousin will have to forfeit his 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser that was involved in the accident.

gvogrin@tribtoday.com WARREN A Warren man accused of assaulting a week-old baby girl in August pleaded guilty Tuesday to reduced charges in the felony case. Andrew J. Jacobs, 27, of 1951 Southern Blvd. NW, Apt. 16, appeared with his attorney Charles Mickens before Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Andrew D. Logan. Jacobs pleaded guilty to two counts of endangering children, while prosecutors dismissed two counts of felonious assault. Logan will sentence Jacobs after he undergoes a background investigation conducted by the court’s adult probation department. The judge told the defendant he could face an indefinite sentence of between two and 20 years.
