Mecca couple sues Allstate after 2018 vehicle crash | News, Sports, Jobs

gvogrin@tribtoday.com WARREN A Mecca couple involved in a Bazetta crash in late 2018 are suing their insurance company for not honoring an uninsured motorist claim. Amy and Michael Haskett of 4005 Greenville Road have initiated a civil action against Allstate Fire and Casualty of Northbrook, Ill. The case, which was filed this week in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, was assigned to Judge W. Wyatt McKay. According to the lawsuit, a car driven on Dec. 21, 2018, by Joshua L. Holmes went left of center, striking the Haskett’s southbound vehicle, causing it to go off state Route 5 into a ditch. The lawsuit identified Holmes as an unlicensed and uninsured driver who was deemed negligent in the police report.

Drugs, other items confiscated at raid | News, Sports, Jobs

Staff report WARREN Detectives with the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office TAG drug task force and the Warren City Police Department on Monday conducted a search of a home in the 900 block of Garden Street NW. According to sheriff’s Capt. Tony Villanueva, agents recovered suspected crystal methamphetamine, suspected cocaine, suspected crack cocaine, suspected heroin, a rifle, ammunition, a scale, cash and suspected counterfeit money. A search warrant was obtained through the Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, Villanueva said, after the task force conducted a several month investigation of drugs being sold from the home. The evidence seized will be sent to be tested at the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Villanueva said no arrests were made, but charges could be pending after authorities analyze the evidence collected at the scene.
