WARREN Several local organizations and the city of Warren are working to digitize demolition records for the public, which will be made possible with a $12,043 grant from the Ohio History Fund.
The Trumbull County Historical Society received confirmation last week it was awarded the grant to implement the project.
Society director Meghan Reed said the organization, Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership, Trumbull County Land Bank and Warren officials are launching Warren Razed, a project to digitize Warren’s urban renewal and Trumbull County Land Bank demolition records for the public.
She said the project will create an online interactive map where Warren’s razed buildings will be documented for current residents and for future generations.

WARREN More than 17 local black residents have been interviewed and their stories recorded for the Trumbull County Historical Society’s “Voices” oral history project, which shares stories of what they’ve faced in their lives.
The historical society last year launched the project to help preserve the history of Warren’s black community, and it is showcasing what has been done for Black History Month.
The Voices project collects and preserves human experiences that highlight the heritage of Warren and Trumbull County African Americans.
For Black History Month, packets with stories of our region are available to educators, researchers and the public.

A sign in front of a house at 326 N. Park Ave., Warren, that was built in the mid-1890s notifies the public that a demolition permit request has been filed.
WARREN Cindee Mines is tired of seeing local history disappear one building at a time.
The Champion resident and Trumbull County Historical Society board member is trying to raise opposition to the proposed demolition of a historic house at 326 N. Park Ave.
“If there’s an outcry like with the trees (cut down) by the Kinsman House (in 2019), maybe there’s someone else who would step up and save it,” Mines said.
