Name of shooting victim released | News, Sports, Jobs

news@tribtoday.com WARREN Police have identified the man shot five to six times Wednesday afternoon at a Warren business. Police were called about 5:20 p.m. to the Little Brothers Smoke Shop at 1329 Youngstown Road SE and found the man shot multiple times at point-blank range. A report identified him as Maurice E. Evans, 20, of Tod Avenue SW. According to a Trumbull County 911 call sheet, Evans was shot in his back, side and arms. A witness told authorities a gray Pontiac took off in the direction of Laird Avenue toward East Market Street just after the shooting. The witness told police she saw the driver reverse at high speed and saw a single driver, but could not identify if the driver was a man or woman. The description she gave was a light-skinned black individual wearing a black mask.

Staff report WARREN City police were called out Thursday evening after a man in the 1200 block of Tod Avenue NW said he was shot in the neck. A 911 report states police received a call of a traumatic injury at 5:45 p.m. from a man at St. Joseph Minor Emergency and Diagnostic Center on Tod Avenue, complaining of a gunshot wound. The man was gurgling and his breathing was labored, the report states. The victim was taken by ambulance to Trumbull Regional Medical Center. Police returned to the area of Belmont Avenue NW where the man said he was shot. One shell casing was found in front of a home in the 200 block of Belmont Avenue, the report states.

Feb 12, 2021 WARREN – A man shot in the neck Thursday on Warren’s northwest side has been identified as Raymond G. Harrison, 30, of 1924 W. Market St. City police discovered the wounded man after he came to the St. Joseph Minor Emergency and Diagnostic Center on Tod Avenue NW late Thursday afternoon. Hen was taken by ambulance to Trumbull Regional Medical Center. No updated report of Harrison’s condition was available this morning. Police said the victim apparently drove himself to the care center in a gray Toyota. Officers found a large sum of money and a plastic bag containing suspected heroin and a small digital scale inside the vehicle. Also, in the glove box was a box of small plastic bags and a wallet with the victim’s identification. No firearms were found, the report states.
