A portrait of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose unveiled by the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan is that of an actor who played him in a biopic, claimed posts on social media that were discredited today by government sources.
President Ram Nath Kovind unveiled Netaji s portrait on Saturday to mark his birth anniversary, named Parakram Diwas by the Centre. A post on his timeline went viral with many users claiming the portrait was actually one of Prosenjit Chatterjee, who played Netaji in the 2019 biopic Gumnami .

The Parliamentary Panel on Information Technology is likely to take up the issues regarding the new privacy policy by Facebook-owned WhatsApp.
As per the latest WhatsApp s privacy policy, a user s data will be shared with parent company Facebook. Although this decision by WhatsApp was rolled out in 2016, users already on the platform before the acquisition had the choice of not sharing that data. That choice no longer exists.
Moitra has challenged the trial court s September 25, 2019 and January 10, 2020 orders by which she was summoned as accused and charges were framed against her in the defamation case respectively.
Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, representing Moitra, sought preponement of the date of hearing of her petition before the high court on the ground that the defamation case is listed before the trial court on Friday, that is, January 8.
He said when the petition was filed in the high court in August last year and the court was to consider granting an interim order, the counsel for the media house had said the trial was not likely to start on the next date.
