COVID: Huron County surpasses 1,000 cases

UPPER THUMB The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the Upper Thumb climbed by 62, while the region saw nine new deaths reported Dec. 10.
According to state data, Huron County had 29 new coronavirus cases and two deaths reported, causing the county to surpass 1,000 confirmed cases. Including the increases, Huron County has now had 1,008 confirmed cases and 22 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
According to the state’s testing data, on Dec. 9 Huron County saw a positivity rate of nearly 17% with 43 positive cases out of 254 tests processed. The county had a seven day average positivity rate of 16.5%.
