All Missourians ages 16 and older are eligible to receive COVID vaccines. Here are some of the places where vaccinations are being given:
The city of Independence is offering free Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. Both require two shots, either 21 or 30 days apart. Register online for the date you wish to receive the vaccination and print off the forms you complete at the site addresses. If you have trouble navigating the website, call 816-325-7121 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
• Tuesday, May 4, 1 to 4:15 p.m., Independence Center, 18801 E. 39th St., second floor, next to the old Macy’s store. Vaccinations at this clinic will be the Moderna two-shot vaccine which can be given to persons 18 and older. Show Transcript CONVENIENT MILESTONE TODAY. [CHEERS] IT WAS A DAY TO CELEBRATE AT - TRUMAN MEDICAL CENTERS AND T - UNIVERSITY HEALTH. I KNEW IT WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. THEY PUT CHRIS IN THIS CHAIR TO GET THE 1,000TH VACCINATION DOSE AT THE HOSPITAL. I GOT THE SHOT. EVERYBODY SHOULD GET THE SHOT IF THEY WANT TO MAKE THEMSELVES SAFE AND EVERYBODY ELSE SAFE. HE S LOST TWO FAMILY MEMBERS OVER THE LAST YEAR TO COVID. THE ONES I HAVE LOST, IS BROUGHT WHAT ME TO GET THE VACCINE. WE STILL HAVE A LOT OF FOLKS WHO TRULY WANT TO GET THE VACCINE AND IF WE CAN MAKE IT CONVENIENT FOR THEM I THINK THEY WILL GET IT. THIS IS A REALLY BIG DAY. CHARLIE SHIE
Friday was a day to celebrate at Truman Medical Centers/University Health. I knew it was the right thing to do and I always follow my gut, Chris Hendrix said. Hendrix was patient No. 100,000 to get the vaccine at the hospital.

In a unanimous vote Friday afternoon, the KCKPS Board of Education announced Dr. Anna Stubblefield as the district s newest Superintendent. Stubblefield, who will start in her new position on July 1, replaces Dr. Charles Foust following his resignation in 2020.
