TRUMANSBURG, NY The president of the Board of Education for the Trumansburg Central School District resigned during a board meeting Monday evening after having published an inaccurate post last week on Facebook that related to the storming of the United States Capitol.
In his Facebook post, Scott Sherwood wrote: While I certainly don t agree with what went on in the Capital today, it is notable that the protesters are leaving peacefully, nothing is burning, no cars of innocent people have been targeted, no businesses have been looted, and no police are being spit on. Just my observations.
During the meeting, Sherwood expressed remorse and admitted his post contained inaccurate information when he published it. Among the details he admitted were incorrect was the fact that the people who stormed the Capitol had not left the area when his post went live.
