A man has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker following a 999 call. Police were called to an address on Bishops Road, St Ives at around 6.30pm last night (Monday, December 21). It followed a report showing concern over the welfare of a woman. A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said police officers attended, but a man was alleged to have become aggressive towards officers, spitting and throwing things at them. A 30-year-old man from St Ives has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker and bailed to appear at Truro Magistrates Court on January 25. A 26-year-old woman from St Austell was also arrested, on suspicion of drink driving and a public order offence, and is police custody this morning.
