For Christina Lasher, it’s a case of creating art from the heart.
The Belleville resident is a full-time registered practical nurse at Hastings Manor, the Hastings County-owned long-term care home on Dundas Street West. She’s also a painter, a hobby she began while on sick leave from 2017 to 2019.

And she’s seen the effects of the pandemic on its residents and coworkers. She said she doesn’t normally draw inspiration from her day job, it did lead to her latest painting.

Lions Clubs International Foundation has awarded the Lions Club of Trenton a $100,000 (U.S.) grant to help fund the Trenton Lions, District A3 & Community build an all-inclusive playground in the city of Quinte West.
Now in its early planning stages, the primary objective of the inclusive playground equipment to allow youth and seniors to feel independent and foster better health.

The equipment will be designed to builld agility, strength, through exercise in the outdoors allowing the individuals to feel part of our community.

Peter McInroy is donating $54,000 to the hospital foundations in Trenton and Belleville, $1,000 for each year of business in the community.
The owner of McInroy-Maines, made the donation to Quinte Health Care through TMHF and TMHF (each hospital foundation will receive $27,000 towards the post of medical equipment.)
McInroy-Maines Construction Ltd. has also sponsored many events, with the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Belleville General Hospital Foundation. McInroy celebrate 50 years in business in 2016, by donating to both charities.
In Trenton, the funds will go towards the x-ray campaign – Executive Director at TMHF Wendy Warner said the important piece of equipment helps to identify illnesses including COVID-19 in patients. In Belleville, BGHF Executive Director Steven Cook said the donations will help to cover the cost of a new ECG machine for the ICU and renovations to the fracture clinic.
