Deploys 8x8 Cloud Communications and Contact Centre Solution to Improve Business Resilience and Optimise Services Delivery 8x8, Inc. (NYSE:EGHT), a leading integrated cloud communications platform provider, today announced that Liverpool City Council has deployed the 8x8 integrated cloud communications and contact centre solution which digitises services for its more than half a million residents, as part of its digital transformation agenda.
As one of the largest metropolitan districts in the UK, the Liverpool City Council set an ambitious goal to accelerate digital transformation and begin the introduction of a self-service model for citizens. One of the barriers to this effort was the limitations of the council s existing Avaya legacy on-premises communications and contact centre infrastructure, which was in need of an upgrade.

The federal government has commissioned some Nigerian scientists and scholars to investigate the efficacy of using Ivermectin drug in the treatment of COVID-19 infections.
This is coming as the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has insisted that it cannot guarantee social distancing in crowded classes and congested hostels.
The research team, which is composed of Nigerian scholars at home and abroad, has also submitted a report on the usefulness of the drug to the World Health Organisation (WHO), which has appointed a peer review expert from the United Kingdom.
Speaking while being briefed on the report by a team of scientists led by the Principal Investigator, Prof. Femi Babalola and the Chief Medical Director of LUTH, Prof. Chris Bode, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, expressed excitement that Nigeria and Nigerians “are at the cutting edge of scientific research into the COVID-19 treatment.”

City I&T Grand Challenge Invites Innovative Solutions From the Community for Smart Living Under New Normal

Organised by the Innovation and Technology Commission together with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, the first City I&T Grand Challenge was launched. In light of the new normal under the epidemic, the theme of the competition this year is “Innovating for Hong Kong’s New Normal” and invites all sectors of the community to put forward innovation and technology (I&T) solutions focusing on two issues, namely environmental sustainability and social connectivity, to tackle problems facing the city and people in their daily lives. A series of workshops and other activities will also be held to create an I&T atmosphere in the whole community.
